The Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has sworn in Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District on Wednesday, November 2, 2023.

Mr Chinedu Akubueze, Clerk of the Senate administered the oath to her at about 11:41 a.m.

The result of the Kogi Senator election held on February 25, 2023 was confirmed by the Kogi National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal which was upheld by the Court of Appeal on Monday, October 30, 2023 in Abuja. The Tribunal declared the PDP Candidate, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the winner of the election with 54,354 votes while her opponent from APC had 51,291 votes.

The Appellate Court upheld the judgment of the Tribunal, and dismissed the appeal filed by Senator Abubakar Ohere for lacking in merit.
