Femi Odetola, is a Nigerian Businessman and Philanthropist who was the former Chairman of Forte Oil PLC and, the current Executive Chairman of Geregu Power PLC.

Femi was inaugurated as the Chancellor of Augustine University at Ilara Epe, Lagos State on Thursday 26^th October 2023.

He posted on his X page that “ I strongly believe in transforming establishments that I am associated with.”

He amazed all Nigerians by stating that he gave a gift of one million naira to each of the Seven Hundred and Fifty Students. I hope this donation of Seven Hundred and Fifty Million Naira assists the plight of the parents of our students in this difficult time, Femi added.

The institution spokesperson, Nicholas Obayi said the appointment was well deserved owing to Otedola’s untiring philanthropic endeavors. He further recalled that in 2019, Otedola donated a faculty complex to the university.

In addition to the student scholarships, Otedola also announced further contributions to Augustine University.

He pledged N140 million for the furnishing of the recently completed Faculty of Engineering building and another N110 million for the installation of street lights around the campus and a new standby generating set.

This brings his total donation to a staggering N1 billion, aside from his earlier committed N2 billion for the construction of the Faculty of Engineering.
