Peter Obi to Attend Imo Labour Party’s Convention on Wednesday

By

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 presidential election, will be in Imo State on Wednesday for a campaign rally for his party’s governorship in the Orlu zone of the state.

According to a statement made in Owerri on Tuesday, 17 October 2023, by Chibuikem Diala, the director of media and publicity for the LP’s candidate for governor in the state, Athan Achonu, Obi would work with his principal and other party members to persuade the electorate to support the LP.

According to the statement, Obi will participate in Senator Athan Achonu’s campaign rally in Orlu, where the party is running a candidate for governor of Imo State in the upcoming election. Obi will persuade voters to support the Labour Party and its candidates.

“With consistent grassroots engagements and his crowd-pleasing ongoing rallies in the state’s 27 local government areas, Achonu has continued to garner unprecedented groundswell support across the state.

“Agu Otu Aka (One-Arm General), as Achonu is affectionately known, has conducted campaigning in 15 LGAs. Given the enormous crowds gathering to hear him speak, nobody could question his popularity with the people.

“Achonu’s selling point is his credibility because, in contrast to his opponents, he has provided concrete examples of what his future administration may do to improve the fortunes of the decrepit state.

“The Aku Ruo Ulo advocate has made numerous multibillion naira investments, particularly in the agro-industry, and employs several hundred people. He has pledged to develop industrial parks in the state’s three zones to revive its stagnant economy.

The public has been won over by his ideas for local government autonomy and his pledge to organize free and fair elections within six months of taking office.

In a place where insecurity has even driven away the state governor and compelled him to lead from outside the state, the Labour Party’s platform to manage the hydra-headed insecurity dilemma is widely praised.

“Governor Uzodinma lacks the solution and has failed to lead the state. Achonu is the new breath that the people need.

Obi’s connection to Achonu demonstrates the legitimacy of the LP candidate and the validity of his ‘Take Back Imo’ campaign.

As is well known, Obi is the face of the much-desired new servant leadership that Nigerians long for. Achonu has modeled his actions after Obi’s charisma and charm, but more importantly, after his strategic leadership. He will duplicate what Obi accomplished when he was Anambra State governor.

“The arrival and support of Obi will further dispel doubters’ beliefs that Achonu is sincere and that, having overcome all the legal obstacles set up to thwart his candidacy, he is unstoppable in his quest to seize control of Douglas House following the November election.

Since the government’s and its hired hands’ propaganda on bikes was ineffective in stopping him, neither can their rigging tools or violence.

“Ndi Imo is therefore asked to turn out in large numbers to vote for the Labour Party on November 11 in order to save their state from probable extinction if the adrift Sen. Hope Uzodinma-led APC government remains in power.”
