Kogi Police Nab Boy Who Allegedly Buried His Brother Alive

The Kogi State Command of the Nigerian Police Force, on Thursday,10th October 2023 arrested a boy known as Goodness Oshodi for allegedly burying his younger brother, Friday Oshodi, alive for stealing N10,000 belonging to their mother.
The incident happened in Apamisede community close to Army Barracks, Lokoja, Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The boy was lucky to be found and exhumed by a good fellow who saved his life.
An eyewitness reported that the mother of the boy directed her eldest son, Goodness Oshodi to punish Friday for stealing her N10,000. The elder brother in adhering to his mother’s directive, decided to bury Friday alive until a good Samaritan neighbour came to the rescue of the boy.
Goodness said that he was only carrying out the instructions of their mother who asked him to punish his brother for stealing her N10,000 while their mother was in church as disclosed by the eyewitness.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, confirmed the incident and said that the boy has been arrested and undergoing interrogation.
“Yes, we are aware. The boy (Goodness) has been arrested. Investigation is ongoing as to why and how such a thing could happen,” Aya said.
According to him, Goodness went and dug a pit, and buried his brother alive. However, Friday was rescued by neighbours while the suspect, Goodness has been taken into custody.
