Niger State Unveils Five-Day Program for Governor’s Inauguration
The government of Niger State has unveiled a comprehensive schedule of activities spanning five days to mark the official installation of Mr. Umar Bago, the governor-elect, and his deputy, Mr. Yakubu Garba.
Alhaji Ahmed Matane, the Secretary to the State Government, announced on Tuesday in a statement made in Minna, Niger State.
According to Matane, the scheduled events will span from May 24 to May 29, excluding May 27, which is designated as Children’s Day.
He clarified that the program will commence with the Valedictory State Executive Council Meeting at 11:00 a.m. on May 24, followed by the Inaugural Lecture on May 25 at 10:00 a.m.
Furthermore, he mentioned that the handover of transition documents will occur on May 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre and the Council Chamber, Government House.
He also announced that special Jumma’at prayers are scheduled for May 26 at 2:00 p.m., to be held at the Central Mosque in Minna. Additionally, a special church service will be conducted at ECWA Goodnews Church, located behind Kure Market, on May 28.
Matane further stated that a polo tournament will be organized at the Minna Polo Ground at 4:00 p.m., followed by a pre-inauguration dinner at the Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi Centre at 7:00 p.m. on May 28.
According to the SSG, the inauguration parade/swearing-in ceremony of the governor-elect would take place at the International Trade Fair Complex, Minna, on May 29.
“There will be a post-inauguration luncheon by 2:00 pm at the Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi Centre,” he said.
