February 24, 2023 Declared Public Holiday Ahead of Election
The government of Osun state has declared Friday, 24th of February, 2023 as public holiday in the State.
This is to ensure its citizens to settle and prepare for the main day that the country will decide who takes the mantle of its leadership for the next four years ahead and more.
This was declared in the government house in the south western state through a circular issued on Wednesday, 22nd February, 2023 by the Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye in Osogbo.
According to the state government, the public holiday was approved so that residents and indigenes would be able travel for the Presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday.
“This is time for all citizens to exercise their voting rights. His Excellency again appeals to all residents to be law abiding as they peacefully exercise their voting rights on Saturday and subsequent elections,” the SSG noted in the circular.
By this notice, the public servants are admonished to work in compliance with the directive and use the great opportunity to travel for the electoral process as concerned citizens with rights and privileges.
