An official of the National Examinations Council (NECO), identified as Vincent Odinko has reportedly been killed by some gunmen who invaded the staff quarters of the University of Ibadan.

Newsmen gathered that Odinko resided in one of the boys quarters in the university was killed while his gadgets including phones and a laptop were carted off.

It was alleged that the incident happened last Friday night as the gunmen forced their way into the BQ of a staff building where Odinko resided with his family.

Odinko worked with the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination Internal Unit, Ibadan branch of NECO until his death.

The police are yet to give full detail of the incident. The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, however said investigations had commenced to unravel the detail of the incident.

“Investigations have since commenced. Updates would be provided, please,” Osifeso said.
