Campbell Hatton fell to another defeat in his rematch against Jimmy Joe Flint in Manchester – leaving his career in tatters.

The 23-year-old put in a spirited display but lost out 97-94, 96-94 and 96-95 on the scorecards for the second defeat of his career – with his previous loss coming against Flint back in March. Hatton had endured a tough start to the fight after struggling to find his balance in the opening round, while a cut that he sustained early on caused him trouble throughout the remainder of the fight, Mirror reports.

He did, however, manage to get into his groove eventually and appeared to have turned the bout in his favour. And while he tried to connect with an overhand right hand, he struggled for success with that particular move.

That predictability appeared to cost Hatton as the fight went to distance, with Flint landing heavy blows to his opponent’s body. And Flint controlled the final few rounds, as he edged beyond Hatton to secure the victory.

Hatton’s record now sits at 14-2 after back-to-back defeats against Flint, and there will be many questions for the youngster to answer in the immediate future.
