Jubilation As Bangladesh Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina Flees the Country

Bangladeshi Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina has resigned after weeks of deadly anti-government protests, putting an end to her more than two decades dominating the country’s politics.
Ms Hasina, 76, fled the country, reportedly landing in India on Monday.
Jubilant crowds took to the streets to celebrate the news, with some storming the prime ministerial palace, reportedly looting and vandalising parts of her former residence, reports BBC.
Bangladesh’s army chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman said in a broadcast to the nation on state television on Monday that Hasina had resigned and that the military would form an interim government.
Over the past few hours “Bangladesh” has become one of the most searched terms on Google.
