Praises As Ronaldo Scores Two in Portugal Friendly Win Over Ireland
By James Hughes
The internet was agog on Tuesday night following Portugal’s 3-0 friendly winover Ireland. Praises were especially showered on Portugal’s 39 year-old captain, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Following a 18th minute goal by Atletico foward Joao Felix, Ronaldo’s goals in the 50th and 60th minute were enough to get Portugal a win after they had lost 2-1 in a friendly with Croatia.
Ronaldo, who had broken Saudi Pro League goal scoring record with Al Nassr will be hoping to replicate his fine goal scoring form at the Euros starting in a few days.
However, speaking after the match on his long-term future in the game, he admitted: “I don’t have many years left in football… so, I have to enjoy it.”
He added: “I’m in love with football. Every game is special, imagine at the Euros with Portugal, you feel proud… it’s a dream, like when I was 20.”
Ronaldo has previously said he plans to play into his forties.
