Court Orders Anyanwu to Cease Parading Himself as PDP Secretary

By

Senator Samuel Anyanwu has been ordered by a Federal Capital Territory High Court to cease presenting himself as the Peoples Democratic Party’s National Secretary. At the same time, a lawsuit against him is being heard.

The decision was made in response to a motion filed in court by Mr. Douglas Nwachukwu, a party chieftain who was feeling vindictive. Nwachukwu begged the court to forbid Anyanwu from using his title as the PDP’s National Secretary.

The lawsuit stated, in part, that the first defendant would not be allowed to recognize, accept, or deal with the second defendant (Anyanwu) as the first defendant’s national secretary. At the same time, the substantive suit was being decided. This order would apply to the National Working Committee, the National Executive Committee, servants, agents, privies, or any other person as described.

Justice M. M. Adamu, the presiding Judge, granted the applicant’s pleas, according to a Certified True Copy of the ruling that our reporter secured on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.

As the substantive suit is being decided, Justice Adamu held “that an order of interlocutory injunction is hereby granted restraining the second defendant/respondent from parading himself or acting as the National Secretary of the first defendant.” He then postponed the substantive suit’s next hearing until January 24, 2024.
