Sunak Sacks UK Interior Minister, Suella Braverman
By
Controversial Interior Minister Suella Braverman was fired by British Leader Rishi Sunak on Monday, 13 November 2023, as part of a team reorganization ahead of next year’s anticipated general election.
After weeks of divisive pro-Palestinian marches and counter-protests in Britain, opponents accused Sunak of inflaming tensions and increasing pressure to fire the vocal right-winger Braverman.
It is not yet known who will replace Braverman, who was appointed to the position shortly after Sunak became prime minister.
“Serving as home secretary has been the greatest privilege of my life,” Braverman remarked after being fired. “In due course, I will have more to say,” she continued.
The sacking occurred as the ruling Conservatives stated Sunak is leading the nation’s first significant Cabinet overhaul since taking office on October 25, 2022.

The amendments, which will be unveiled throughout the morning, are anticipated to benefit younger, up-and-coming MPs and loyalists, as the Tories’ popularity has declined after nearly 14 years in power.
Throughout Sunak’s tenure in office, the party has constantly lagged behind the main Labour opposition by double digits, and the upcoming election is predicted to be a disaster.
Throughout her term, Braverman had fostered controversy by adopting a tough stance on immigration in particular and frequently delving into so-called “culture wars” themes that have divided voters.
The right-wing politician claimed that returning asylum seekers to Rwanda was her “obsession” and “dream” shortly after taking office, branding her detractors as liberal “tofu-eating wokerati.”
However, after she penned a controversial newspaper piece last week accusing police of favoring left-wing causes ostensibly without Sunak’s consent, her situation grew more and more unsustainable.
She was held responsible for inflaming emotions leading up to a weekend of demonstrations against Israel’s war in Gaza, which fell on Armistice Day and sparked demands that she be fired.
