The Managing Director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, Doctor Olufemi Olaleye has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the defilement of his wife’s niece. This judgment was passed on Tuesday 24 October 2023 at the Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence sitting in Ikeja.

The Presiding Judge, Rahman Oshodi convicted Olaleye on a two-count charge of defilement and sexual assault by penetration of a 15-year-old girl. The judge stated that the prosecution was able to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt and all evidence presented before the court corroborated with that of the victim.

The life sentence for both counts will run concurrently, he added.

On 30 November 2023, Olaleye was arraigned where he pleaded not guilty to the offences. Dr. Babajide Martins, the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) told the Court that Olaleye committed the offence between February 2020 and November 2021.

During trial, Olaleye’s wife, Aderemi told the court that her husband introduced the underage victim to oral sex and pornography.
