The Police Command in Maiduguri, Borno State has launched an urgent investigation into the sudden death of Ibrahim Garba, the State Commissioner for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement.

Garba died on Saturday 21st October 2023 in Maiduguri, based on a statement released by Governor Babagana Zulum’s spokesman, Isa Gusau.

The investigation, according to Gusau, was instigated by the meeting of Governor Zulum and the state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Yusuf, at the house of the deceased to commiserate with his family.

“Governor Babagana Umara Zulum received the news with intense shock and profound grief,” Gusau said in the statement, adding, “The governor mourns alongside the late commissioner’s family, other loved ones, friends, associates, and members of the State Executive Council.”
