Tinubu Appoints Aina, and Ohiri as CEOs of NPHCDA, NHIA

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of two new chief executive officers of the agencies under the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.

This was announced in a State House release on Friday, 20th October 2023, by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

Ngelale disclosed that Dr Muyi Aina has been appointed as the Executive Secretary/CEO, of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), while Kelechi Ohiri, has been appointed the Director-General/CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).

“Aina is a globally renowned public health leader with a Master’s in Public Health from Harvard University (USA) and a doctorate from Johns Hopkins University.

“Ohiri recently served as the Managing Director for Strategy at Global Alliance for Vaccines in Geneva, Switzerland. He obtained Masters in Public Health degree from Harvard University (USA) and another Masters degree in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government following his first medical certification from the University of Lagos,” the statement read.
