The Benue State Commissioner of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Mathew Abo, who was abducted finally regained his freedom in the early hours of Thursday, October 5, 2023.

Abo, was abducted by gunmen who invaded his house in Zaki-Biam on Sunday, was said to have reunited with his family at about 1:00 am.

This incident occurred when the Commissioner was abducted from his home in Zaki-Biam, located in the Ukum Local Government Area, a region known for its high crime rate.

A source close to the family did not state whether any ransom was paid before his release.

The spokesperson for the state Police Command, Catherine Anene, could not be reached as of the time of filing this report.
