The Lagos State Police Command, on Wednesday,4th October 2023 got a warrant to detain singer, Azeez Fashola popularly also known as Naira Marley, and a music promoter, Balogun Eletu also known as Sam Larry, for over 48 hours based on constitutional provision, over an ongoing investigation into the death of late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba a.k.a Mohbad.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed this on Wednesday evening, October 4.

Hundeyin categorically made it clear that the duo were not arrested for the case but to garner more information on their relationship.

He said, “They were not arraigned for the case itself; they were taken to court for us to get a remand warrant to enable us to detain them beyond the constitutional 48 hours provision so that we’re not accused of over-detention. To get the remand warrant, we needed to present the people in court.

Mohbad left Marlian Records, controlled by Naira Marley on controversial grounds in 2022, but his relationship with the former boss was toxic and unpeaceful.
On this note, the Lagos State Police Command has declared the singer and friend of Mohbad, Owodunni Ibrahim popularly known as Prime Boy wanted over his failure to honour invitation regarding the death of Mohbad.
