By

The Ogun State spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, has disclosed that an unidentified serial killer is currently on the run in the Remo axis in the Remo- North local Government Area of the state. Oyeyemi made this known in a statement on Friday.

The statement came as a result of the most recent killing in the axis. Happiness Odeh, a student of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic was gruesomely murdered few days ago. Reports have it that Odeh and one other female victim were conveyed by an unidentified motorcyclist who raped and killed them last Tuesday. On Thursday, their corpses were found on the road where the suspect dropped it.

Oyeyemi stated further that the mode of operation of the serial killer is to pretend as a commercial motorcyclist, okada and pick up his target as a passenger. He said that many of the victims are women. These victims are usually taken to an isolated area, raped and gruesomely murdered in cold blood.

The police spokesperson emphasized the need for the public to be on alert and be wary especially at night, of any okada rider with whom they want to embark on a journey. Oyeyemi also noted that the police command is making efforts to apprehend the hoodlum.

The command then advises that passengers should endeavour to demand the phone number of any okada rider who wants to convey them at night for safety reasons.

Oyeyemi urged further that they make a call to such number to ascertain its authenticity as this will give security agencies a lead in their investigation in the event of any untoward development.
