The simplicity of the immediate past President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has again been brought to the centre-stage as he was sighted having a walk in his home country, Daura.

In a video seen by Newsbreakers, Buhari was only accompanied by two of his security details as he stretched his legs.

Indigenes and members of the community could be heard flocking to the former Head of State and President in awe.

Some began to record on their devices, the videos ending up on social media.

Former aide to Buhari, Bashir Ahmed who posted the video on social media on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, stated that the reason the ex-President could move freely was because he was at peace with his people

After completing his second term as president, Mr Buhari retired to Daura, Katsina, last month, but later travelled to London before coming back two weeks ago.

His media aide Garba Shehu, last month said that the former president had hoped to find some quietness and be allowed “to have his needed rest” but was hindered by individuals who sought to pay him goodwill visits.

“He chose to go home in Daura hoping to find the type of quiet he wished for himself, but realising that this was not the case, visitors trooping in morning, day and night, he moved out to a more distant place,” he said.
