The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has once again emphasized that the changes he made in the 17 Local Government Areas of the State are lawful, with stern affirmation that the decision will not be changed.

The Governor made this clear on Thursday June 15, 2023 in his response to the sealing of all 17 Local Government Secretariats in the State by the Commissioner of Police on the orders of the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba.

The Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere made this public through a statement which read:

“Governor Mutfwang in a press statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, appealed to citizens to remain calm and resist any form of provocation, as the government is taking lawful steps to return the Local Government system to a sound footing for massive development at the grassroots.

“He urged citizens in the state not to indulge in any unlawful activity that will undermine peace and security in the state.
“The Governor reassures Plateau State citizens that the security of lives and property remains the topmost priority of his administration as it is the foundation that gives birth to all forms of growth and development.
