FRSC Boss calls for Safe Driving during Easter

The Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) has called on Nigerians to be really careful and extra conscious as they ply the road during the Easter celebration. The sanity and purity of life is precious to be lost on careless use of the roads.
Corps Marshal Dauda Biu said this via signed statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, on Saturday, 8th April, 2023 in Abuja.
Biu wished all the “Christian faithful a very happy Easter celebration with emphasis on the need to deeply reflect on the purpose of the season which is wrapped in the essence of genuine love on others especially while using the road”.
He said “I wish to seize the opportunity of the Easter celebration to call for deep reflection by people on the need for attitudinal change towards road safety and collective campaign against the menace of road traffic crashes in the country”.
Biu also plead with road users to strictly observe and obey traffic rules and regulations to ensure accident free celebration. This call was necessary because of the rampant cases of accidents linked to high speed.
The FRSC boss advised road users to drive defensively by observing traffic rules and regulations to achieve the goal of zero crash in this years’ celebration as there are increase in the number of vehicles and human all across the country during Easter and that usually put so much pressure on the FRSC as they step on their feet to work effectively.
“I want to seriously appeal to motorists to always obey traffic rules and regulations.
“Appropriate measures have been put in place through massive deployments of personnel and logistics across the nation to give succour to road travellers.

He laid emphasis on swift and professional action on removal of obstructions, enforcement of speeding, overloading and seatbelt offences, as well as violations on use of mobile phones while driving and lane indiscipline.
“Adequate deployments of our personnel and logistics to effectively cover all the road networks in the country as well as the identified black spots have been put in place.
“It is our hope that our goal of zero fatality during the Easter celebration will be achieved,” he said lastly.
