Labour Party Secretariat Unsealed in Imo

The 2023 general election is done but electoral cases still waver in the air of Nigerian political space. The previously sealed Imo State secretariat of the Labour Party located in Owerri, the state capital has been unsealed Tuesday, 4th April, 2023.

This is just some hours after it has been sealed by some Police officers to prevent members of the party that came with great wave and change the political dominance of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) overtime.
The secretariat building was seen opened this Tuesday and carefully observation showed the disappearance of the police operatives who took over the place on Monday after sealing it and all the staff members at the secretariat have regained access into the LP office.
The state party leader Festus Onyekwulisi confirmed that the secretariat had been unsealed and normal party activities ongoing.
Umar Farouk, the National Secretary of the Labour Party in a statement accused, Hope Uzodimma, the governor of the state of conniving with police to lock up the secretariat.
In a statement by Farouk, “the national leadership of the Labour Party is shocked over the invasion and occupation of its secretariat in Owerri, today, Monday April 3, 2023 by the agents of the Imo state governor, Hope Uzodimma, including thugs and unauthorized police men drafted from the government house.
“Such illegal occupation was akin to similar invasion on the same secretariat on Wednesday March 15, 2023”.
