IReV portal working and ready for March 11 polls – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confidently given strong assurance that the result-viewing portal that had issues during the presidential and National Assembly elections has been fixed and will be fully used for the 11th March, 2023 gubernatorial and House of Assembly election. This will further strengthen the belief of the Nigerian citizens on INEC.

The Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, said on 5^th March, 2023 via an interview that:

“INEC had received backlash from political parties, observers, individuals and various interest groups for failing to upload polling unit results to the portal prior to the collation.

Some political parties and individuals had relied on the glitch to demand the cancellation of the results”.

Carefully checks by the Punch correspondent on Sunday, revealed that the electioneering body has uploaded 161,624 results from 176, 846 polling units, eight days after the presidential poll and theses figures represents 92% of all the results from these polling units.
