Ede Poly Goes Mobile on Examination

The Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State has announced of it’s plans to conduct examinations through the use of mobile devices.
This is coming as the institution is commencing computer-based examinations.
The Protocol, Media and Public Relations Officer of the institution, Sola Lawal, who made these known in a statement on Tuesday, explained that the Head of the Information Communication Technology Directorate of the polytechnic, Dr. Adekunle Adewale, had already informed the Management and other relevant stakeholders about the development.
He added that under the new arrangement, the conduct and administration of examinations would be done through the use of mobile devices and computer tablets.
The statement read in parts, “We are delighted to inform the Polytechnic community about the successful conduct and administration of computer-based examinations in the ongoing 2021/2022 second semester examination, using mobile (devices) and tablets by the students.
“Today, the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, became the first ever institution in the history of tertiary institutions in Nigeria to conduct and administer computer-based examinations on mobile devices.
“However, we humbly seize this opportunity to appeal to Deans of schools and Head of Departments to encourage their students and staff to be part of this noble idea for the benefit of the Polytechnic.”
President Muhammadu Buhari in December 2022 appointed Dr. Sani Man- Yahaya as the sixth substantive Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State.
